The sidewalks in Kaohsiung are a menace

The sidewalks in Kaohsiung are a menace. Last night I tripped and fell on the sidewalk on the south side of 五福一路 between 和平一路 and 凱旋一路, because the construction workers left a plastic pipe protruding into the place where people walk.

The sidewalks that have recently been renewed elsewhere are little better. The tiles on the sidewalk on 思維三路 between 中山二路 and 復興二路 are coming loose; some wobble, others are tilted, and many are chipped.

Someone is doing a very poor job.

Switzerland! That shows how bad my photography is. On the little time I've spent in Taipei, it's possible to walk on the sidewalk. In Kaohsiung, there are only a couple of streets with sidewalks available to pedestrians. Anyway, Kaohsiung has little to recommend it. Stay in Taipei.
